About
After retiring in 1998 I began selling my tools, coin and CD collections, old computers and other accumulated paraphernalia on ebay. At times I sell items for other retirees, our church and family. See my listed collections.

Events in the War of 1812 come alive in this retelling
This book has been around for thirty odd years. It was recommended by several friends who knew I wanted accurate descriptions about the War of 1812. I was also hoping to learn if the Pennsylvania Militia Companies my ancestors served in were involved in these battles. Walter Lord gives faces and personalities to the participants, great and small. He places the reader inside Washington DC as the buildings burn. The battles for Baltimore and New Orleans come alive in his narration. More, the reader learns about events on both sides of the Atlantic, in England and the United States, and in France, events that lead to a draw, both sides returning to their positions prior to the war. Highly recommended reading. No, there was no mention of my ancestor's Militia, the 4th Detachment (RUSH'S) Pennsylvania Militia nor Thompson's Regiment Pennsylvania Militia. What battles they fought remain a mystery, probably fighting in the north and Canada.
