A surprisingly good antenna.
I tested the antenna using a Business Radio from a 1997 BMW in the basement of my house. Not a good place for reception. A standard dipole barely picked up any stations.
The amplified antenna really surprised me at how strong the reception is. However, powering it with 12V or not barely makes a difference. It helps, but just noticeable. The performance is great either way.
The adhesive pad it comes with is really strong. It also has clips to route the coax.
I'd recommend it highly.

Great set of tapes
I was amazed at the video quality of the tapes. I didn't realize that VHS could be so good. The episodes haven't been edited to apply today's standards of political correctness to something produced in the 40's and allows us to enjoy them the way they were intended.
The introductions at the beginning of the tapes are at times interesting.

Worth what I paid but...
1 of 1 found this helpful I purchased the book for 25% of it's list price. It was worth that. If you want a light introduction to what's available it's a good buy. The radio section doesn't cover a fraction of what's out there. Of the three models I've obtained recently, it covers two. Those two I obtained for about 1/2 of what the books says they're worth. I'm pretty sure of the worth of one model, the Arvin 444A since I just purchased three of them. The Majestic Charlie McCarthy is one of the ones they've slightly undervalued from what I've seen online. No, I don't have one. The one that I do have that wasn't listed is the Majestic 71.
The TV section is pretty good. You can learn most of the information about the sets online. However, this is about the only place I know of to get an idea of their value.
I bought it to find out what the price of a vintage TV is that I'm interested in buying. It's not covered, but that's forgiveable since it's not a popular or common set.
