Fine De-Greaser for Chains and Moving Parts
A staple in bike shops, this product does the job for exactly what it advertises—de-greasing chains and moving parts. It has two notable shortcomings. A co-worker and I nearly had to destroy the cap to get it off. And it is not a lubricant; I used it constantly on a gear shifter that kept getting stuck until I put good, old-fashioned WD-40 on the shifter, which repaired it permanently.

Reliable tire for average use
Kenda is the near-bottom end of mass manufactured bicycle tires, but the price is excellent, and it's reliable for average use—commuting and leisure rides but not for off-road and racing. I use an old steel-frame 26" bike and have swapped out tires many times, finally settling on another "upper-end" manufacturer's steel-beaded tires—the rear one lasted 3,251 miles (not bad for bicycle use). I expect this Kenda tire to last 1,976 miles, but I'm near the end of my use with the old steel bicycle, so the Kenda is a decent investment.

Down on your luck occasionally? Check out this Andre Williams title....
Known for leading a hard life, in 2010, Andre Williams presented a rough and gravely set of songs that is autobiographical yet universal. Some ideas amazingly transcend time. One of the best, "America," sounds like a command from a Democrat to a Republican: "You ain't the only one who likes America / I like America, too / Just like you." The hard-living songs, "Cigarettes and My Old Lady," "Tricks," "There Ain't No Such Thing as Good Dope," "Too Light to Fight," and the title track, are actually intriguing because they're lyrically up front and frank and musically excellent in a blues-rock and roll format. "My Time Will Come" and "Amends" are amazing bookmarks for a good, complete album. Arguably as a concept album, "That's All I Need" is more exhausting than pleasing, but if you've been dumped by "your old lady," put on "When Love Shoots You in the Foot" and crack open an adult beverage, and you might feel better. This isn't an album about wallowing in sorrow but getting back up to face another round in the fight of life. Sometimes we need to hear that, but thankfully, not always.
