Poor battery life, no consumer changeable battery, erratic behavior
This phone has lots of features, most I don't use. It is a customized version just for Republic. I have had it for 1 month and had experienced many technical issues. Very low headset volume either wired or Bluetooth. Poor connectivity/dropped calls either using wifi or cell when there is a weak signal vs Verizon. Requires repeated attempts to dial a number. Intermittent voice mail notification. Poor voice mail options vs either Sprint or Verizon. With a strong wifi signal it works great for calls or data. Knowing it's limitations, the plan price is great and it does work if you are willing to trade reception problems for pricing. I would not buy it and pay for the 4g plan as there are other, better phones that use 4g for $40-
$50/mo on other carriers.

Auto answer and announce caller id
I have the kx-th111, and the th1211. I had to upgrade when I switched to a newer cell phone. All functions work correctly with my Verizon Moto w755 and the th1211 except when ring is set to auto answer and announce caller id. The th1211 does not change auto answer back to non auto answer, so you have to remember to take the phone off auto answer when linking to the th1211. When using announce caller id, the th1211 does not ring until the w755 announces the caller then starts ringing. This causes many missed calls as the caller id announce takes up 2-3 ring cycles and you are only allowed 4 ring cycles before call goes to voice mail.
Why do I use auto answer w/headset and announce caller id you ask? Auto answer w/headset allows you to not use your hands to turn on the headset, a safety issue when driving. Announce caller id when wearing a headset and driving allows you to hear who is calling before answer.
Several other nice features of the th1211 over the th111 is auto bluetooth reconnect when the phone goes out of range. And the ability to answer or make calls either with the cell phone or the th111 cordless.

2nd IP23 I bought.
I have one already. I bought this for another room. It has a clock that has multipositions for diming from full to off brightness and 2 alarms. There is no radio, but I use the ipod as a visual alarm clock. When the alarm is set and the ipod is attached, the ipod will light up when the alarm goes off. If you don't want to bother your partner with sound the sudden brightness may wake you up. But of course it won't help during summer when it gets light earlier. One downside is that there is no raised button to turn off the alarm, so you have to be able to feel where the depressed buttons are in the dark.
