If you can afford it, buy it!
I have experiences with various pickups, mostly the passive kind, that have left me wanting. The last kind, also a Fishman, had a rubber covering for the sound hole that interfered with my finger picking, and then having the cord dribble out from the front of the sound hold left something to be desired too.
This unit, though on the pricey side, is just what the doctor ordered. Clear, crisp tone - sounds like your guitar! And you get to play to your heart's content with whether you want the pickups or the mic or both to capture that sound.
I can tell you that you can probably spend the rest of your life seeking that "sweet spot" for the position of the condenser mic. Not that it's not there, just that I think you'd need a really really good set of ears to discern the difference.
