If you've decided to invest in a high-end gaming system, then the 1080 ti is your best choice because it's just a notch below in performance the RTX's deliver, and they're often twice the price!
I bought a 1080 ti used several months ago (for $464) from a reputable dealer and I haven't looked back. I'm continually astonished at what it reveals in graphic fidelity.
BOTTOM-LINE (REGARDING GRAPHICS CARDS): Their true value lies in your appreciation of the optimum. So go for it!
