Very useful and fun to learn from!
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought this CD set to help me learn to speak Japanese for a future trip to Japan and it's very helpful. Most learning tools I've used have focused on reading, writing and general grammar, but this deals with the challenging task of speaking. Other learning tools that focus on speech go very fast and ask you to simply repeat back what you hear, but this set explains you what you're saying and in what context, as well as what to expect to hear in reply. The speakers on the CD can speak very quickly at times but they also give you a breakdown of certain words and phrases one syllable at a time to help you get acquainted with what is being said. It repeats certain terms over the course of the CD set to help you retain earlier lessons. The fact that these are CDs make it very convenient because you can pause while you're trying to pronounce words and phrases until you get them right and can speak with confidence. This is one of my favorite tools for learning Japanese and I hope to buy more sets like it in the future. Each time I finish a lesson I feel excited and motivated to know this language can be learned and used in a practical way. I highly recommend it.

Useful dictionary!
I have many Japanese language learning books but there are always words I need to understand to put it all in context. This book gives me those words. It has a brief but useful introduction with some insights on pronunciation and there are two sections; Japanese to English, and English to Japanese. It's easy to navigate and has very clear definitions. Easy to understand.

Great adaptation of a great movie.
Those who have seen the movie 'Your Name' are aware that this is a spectacular story. Here it's presented as a manga; well-written and illustrated. This is not always an easy story to adapt but here it's done about as well as can be hoped for. If you haven't seen the movie, I recommend viewing it first before reading the manga or the 'light novel' versions. The movie will clearly set up the unique and mind-blowing story, but these adaptations can shed light on a few minor areas that may have flown under the radar in the film. This is pretty close to the movie, but it's sometimes nice to be able to enjoy the art and story on the printed page. I strongly recommend this manga, it's brought me a lot of enjoyment.
