Nice recordings by Neeme Jarvi and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra of Williams Grant Still's Symphony No. 2 (Song of a New Race), William Levi Dawson's Negro Folk Symphony, and Duke Ellington's Harlem. There are not very many recordings of the works of Still or Dawson, so this is nice to have.

This CD features live concert performances by the roots music artists from the soundtrack of the movie "O Brother, Where Art Thou". The drawback is that the album only features 12 tracks, not all of the tracks that were featured in the "Down From The Mountain" concert movie. What's here is great, but it would be nice if they would issue a 2 CD deluxe edition, like they did for the soundtrack.l
