Effective small saw
I needed a small saw for cutting a lot of mitre cuts on small batons etc, decided to buy this after reading many positive reviews and am not disappointed. It has a solid feel and seems to be well made although it required a couple of minor re-finishing touches - the laser housing on the top of the saw needed to be re-aligned so the beam gave an accurate indication of the position of cut and the rotating guide arm on the jig had some burrs that needed filing off. Both of these tasks were straightforward and were a minor niggle; given the price, this saw seems to be very well made.
As mentioned in other reviews, there is a bit of a knack to releasing the trigger switch; also the barrel of the saw is about 65mm wide x 70mm deep, so this action will prove difficult for someone with small hands. So far I have used the saw for cutting small wooden battens which is does with ease, leaving a clean cut. There is about 0.5 mm clearance between the saw base and the track, which means care needs to be taken to get an accurate cut. A little bit of silicone, applied with a polishing cloth to the saw base plate, made it much easier to slide the saw along the track in the jig.
I expect this product to give me many years of service as a hobbyist tool. The saw itself would probably cope with heavier duty use by someone who wasn't too heavy handed, but I don't think the jig is designed with that type of user in mind.

Quality OK, but expensive
This ALKO top and back pad set fits perfectly and seem to be made of good quality plastic, but only time will tell. The previous top pad broke for no obvious reason, so I hope this one will last longer. Instructions are good and fitting is straightforward providing the instructions are followed. But the main reason for only three stars is the price - at £30 for two small plastic mouldings and a couple of screws this seems very expensive. There are non ALKO look-a-like versions available from about half the price, but not having enough information about them led to me spending the extra. If the part fails, the hitch can get jammed on the tow ball, which is not a great situation to deal with.

Worked as expected. Adaptor rings to suit different hole diameters would have been helpful.
