Doesn’t feel like rubber

The grip texture is slick compared to the original rubber Ergo Grip. Definitely not rubber.

Impressive

Surprisingly sturdy! Assembly was simple and quick. All parts were in labeled zipped bags, which made assembly that much easier. Wood is also finished very well. There are no crappy looking raw pieces of MDF and laminate flaking off like similar items. The lock could be better. It would not unlock out of the box. Took some tweaking with a pick to fix some bent internal parts. Good for the price.
