Trick part
It looks like carbon fiber but it’s actually aluminum. I have other carbon fiber parts on my bike and this matches really well. I find that it does a good job of holding only the larger containers. The smaller containers will slip right through the bottom because there’s not enough of a heel to keep them in place. The larger containers can easily squeeze in there because the red rubber band across the center allows for expansion. I use a large 32 oz. sport bottle. I can insert a thicker old-school cylindrical coolie inside the drink holder and then it will safely hold your average bottled water or beer can.

Quality can be felt at first touch
This is a high-quality real. Extremely smooth, super easy bail closing action. The drag is silky smooth but what I especially like is the low start up inertia required. With superior line capacity to comparable Shimano models this is a super high performer. The reel came with a nice quality felt real bag.
