Sprint Airave 2.5 femtocell works great
Airave femtocell installation is straightforward assuming:
1. You are a Sprint wireless customer
2. There is a high speed (gigabit) network connection available
3. There is a 110 v plug close enough
4. These are near (15-20 feet) a window where the GPS antenna puck can be placed
If those fout items uare OK installation is a matter of connecting an Ethernet cable, running the GPS antenna, and plugging in the power.
Then you must call the Sprint service number provided and provide the Airave MAC address. There is no initial or monthly charge for Airave service.
All this took me about 15 minutes, mostly on hold at the Sprint service line. Then you have to wait for the Airave to initialize - this took quite a while - in our case, overnight.
Once it is initialized and you have three solid green indicator lights, you should be making wireless calls over your network. Every time you place or receive a Sprint wireless call, you hear three rapid beeps and your voice connection is vastly improved.
