I think I'm through buying Seagate Drives
A Great Way to extend the life of an XP desktop. Quit supporting Microsoft if they won't support you. After Eleven Years of weekly patches and it STILL AIN'T FIXED? If you want something new, buy Apple; they stand behind what they sell. If you just want a net book, get a ChromeBook. These drives are also great for that external backup. The only foolproof backup scheme is redundancy. By putting together your own external drive, you know you have the GOOD Black Drive. Every failed drive I have had was a Seagate Drive.

500 Gb Seagate SATA II hard drive (ST3500841NS)
I bought it because I needed more storage, like yesterday! A previous auction that I won was cancelled so I turned around and in 15 min had this one. They are very plentiful right now on Ebay; I could have had three. The price was right; I was looking for Seagate or Maxtor; and the destination was close. It was in my computer 2 days later. The Western Digital it replaced made this weird sound; now I have a quiet computer. Don't get me wrong, any hard disk can go bad; I just trust the Seagate brand. I almost bought one from that Thailand guy until I saw he had -2 feedback. I'm Happy. jBg

    Cheap upgrade.
GREAT CHOICE to replace an XPS8300 that was having hardware problems. I merely switched HDs and was off and running.
