Very Good Padlock for Locksmithing
Master Lock Model 141D: My recommendations for this padlock are specifically for locksmithing and not for use as a device to secure items. Master Lock units are notoriously flawed in numerous ways enabling them to be opened via picking, shimming, raking, etc almost faster than using the key itself. However, this makes these little locks the perfect subject for beginner practice and learning.
Model 141D has a fine construction but still contains the usual flaws. This unit is shimmable within approximately 10 seconds, raked within 2 seconds, zipped in 15 seconds and picked in about 10 seconds. So, yes: very easy to pick.
Highly recommended for beginner learning or practicing locksmithing techniques, not for securing valuables.
