Shawn Mullins great new cd 9th Ward is his best yet

I have listened to Shawn since the early 90's when he played small gigs in Atlanta and released records on his own label. He has a very distinctive voice and his songs usually tell a story- which are 2 things I always enjoy in a cd. I love everything from early songs like Evolution Man and This Time, Last Time to more recent well known songs like Shimmer and Lullaby. Since I have gottten this cd it has gone from home to car to work with me every day and I can listen to it back to back without getting tired of it. The first single Beautiful Wreck has a catchy chorus about a sad girl- which has worked well for Shawn in the past... Cold Black Heart is like an old folk song about love gone wrong, Blue As You has a very distinctive sound, and his version of House of the Rising Sun made me listen to the song more closely than I ever had before. I have no affiliations to Shawn, but always try to help his sales whenever I can becaue he was always nice and put on a great show on campus when I was in college in Atlanta. Buy this cd if you have ever been a fan, and look for Shawn on the road right now with the Gin Blossoms-- he is playing several songs from this cd and it was a fun show.
