If you want to learn about the soldiers in this 7th US Cavalry during this time frame, you can't beat this book. .

Pros: Outstanding research tool of the 7th Cavalry prior to the Battle of the Little Big Horn. Easy to find soldiers in alphabetical order. Easy to understand individual military history and more. Individual rosters list those who were there, those who died and those who lived. Found John G. Kimm interred in my hometown right off and it was great to get to know him and what he did before in the Civil War, during this battle and after until he ended up here at our Soldiers Home. Grave markers don't tell you the whole history. If you visit this battlefield, you need a copy of this book, that way when you find their marker you'll be able to meet them. Cons: None I could find.
