Massive improvement over stock
1 of 1 found this helpful Had just bought my son a ‘98 S10 2.2, and the stock shifter was so spongy that it was really easy to miss 3rd gear, and sometimes fourth. Had previous excellent experience with a Hurst billet shifter in a Mustang GT, and so this one was a no brainer. Installation was straightforward, and the instructions were excellent. Instructions did note that removing the foam insulation to get at the mounting bolts is a major pain, and they weren’t kidding. Fortunately it went back in easier than it came out. Truck shifts beautifully now, and throw is greatly reduced. If I had to make a small critique, I’d say that it would be nice if it had adjustable stops side to side. When bringing it over to first, it’s possible to bring it too far over so that it won’t slip up into first. Once you get used to the feel of where it is, it’s not a big deal.

Came as advertised. Had it installed a few days later, and now my ATS has a great deep growl.
