If you are serious about photography, it is a wonderful camera.
Nikon stopped making these in the early 1970's, it was their first SLR and the camera that nearly destroyed Leica. It is heavy, fully manual, exceptionally well made and beautiful. Shutter speed is in whole stops, as were the lenses made for it at that time. If it hasn't been serviced recently, it will need one and this will cost up to £230 for the body and Photomic head. The F2 is generally improved but really, I think this is one of the most beautiful SLRs ever made. Do not buy one from any seller not prepared to take returns. These are all over 40 years old and many will have had a hard life. Unscrupulous sellers may cover them in oil to make them look good and shoddy servicing can make them economically unviable to service. I bought two, sent them to an expert and ended up with one fully functioning example, that works really well. But it was not cheap. When you have one that works well though, there is a perfection in the symphony of mechanical action that takes place when you press the shutter and I love mine. I actually love it more than I love any of my other cameras. And I have a Leica M9.

Great value manual focus semi-pro film SLR with shutter priority.
This is a great camera. It had shutter priority a long time before Nikon introduced it on the FA and you can read the exposure any time day or night as its in LEDs in the viewfinder window. The combined shutter/aperture dial is a little fiddly, but you can change settings with the camera to your eye. If you like shutter priority and for street photography with 400ASA film somewhere like London on a grey day, it's essential, this is also the only Canon of this era that had it built in.
Since Canon abandoned backwards compatibility when they released the EOS series cameras and EF lenses, the A1 and closely related AE1 together with the FD lenses for them are a complete bargain these days.
They are not the same solid built like tank workhorses that the Canon F or Nikon F and their descendants are but there again, if you're in the press or a war correspondent you won't be shooting film these days. For everyone else, they're fine.

Love the Charge 2
Looks much nicer than the Charge HR, more functionality and the HR sensor seems a lot more accurate. The large size is also actually large unlike the previous model and you can get replacement straps on eBay or Amazon.
