Came quickly, well packaged. I had to do some adjustments to tune it to the quad engine, but it brought the machine back to life.

Cheap Chinese quality
Yet one more example of 50% failure rates on cheap Chinese lighting. Just say no.

Samsung promotes 1080p on a TV with only 1050 capacity
6 of 7 found this helpful Love the styling. Hate what I consider deceptive specs.
Samsung labels this TV as being a 1080p. When attaching to a computer via the HDMI port, it appears as a SyncMaster as advertised and suggests 1080 resolution as the setting. This creates a funky offset on hard edges of dialogs, fonts... making the display look crummy. To me this means that the Samsung does NOT have a 1:1 native resolution at all. When you scale down the resolution to 1050, everything aligns and looks much better. Seems pretty clear that Samsung has deployed their 1050 LCD screen in this TV along with a bit of logic to "fool" BD players and other 1080p devices that the TV is actually 1080p capable.
I have considered Samsung a solid provider of consumer electronics up until now, but with this little gem will probably move to a different manufacturer from now on.
Samsung, if you read this review and disagree with my assessment of the actual physical properties of this LCD screen please publish a response here. However if you agree, step up and say that as well. Any maybe consider making an offer to take back (yes, that would be a recall) any of these TVs sold under false pretenses.
