The Brightwood Expedition by Kay L. McDonald

Relationships and Oregon in the 1800s.
Not 100% accurate in all details but a good historical look at the U.S. Westward Movement in the 1800s. Also, a good lesson in why to not let prejudice control your thoughts and emotions; it's an older but still wise story.

    An Amazing History Lesson
I've been interested in WWII in the Pacific since my Dad was in Papua New Guinea, The Philippines, and island hopping in Japan. This collection of stories helped me understand why this was our "Greatest Generation." Dad seldom talked about what he went through, but I know his squadron flew guard over the surrender of the Japanese -- he's somewhere overhead in the photo in this book. Compared to the men who suffered through the Bataan surrender, he had it pretty easy. Most of the men featured in these stories struggled mightily just to survive and, of course, some of them didn't, but they were Dad's comrades in arms, willing to do whatever was required, and I'm proud of all of them.

    Good, Clean, Funny
This is the third book by Berneathy that I've read. Love her sense of humor and writing style. Her work is quick reading and highly entertaining. Looking forward to the rest of her works!!!
