Great Starter Brush
This was my first shaving brush, the Pure Badger from AOS. It was NOT floppy and it allowed me to work up a really good lather - I prefer to lather on my face and not in a bowl. I enjoyed using the brush so much I upgraded to a Silvertip brush by AOS which I love. If you're not sure if you are going to like using a shaving brush, this is a great one to start out with without the risk of having spent too much on something you end up not using. You don't even have to upgrade to a more expensive brush if you like this particular one, since it really does get the job done well. I recommend this Pure Badger brush as opposed to the least expensive, which is the Best Badger

Absolute Luxury, Great For Lathering, & The Finest Brush I Own
At $100 the Kent BLK8 is a fabulous deal. And since Kent is no longer making brushes with real silvertip badger hair, you would be foolish to lose this opportunity to buy one at this price.
I have 3 silvertip brushes - the other 2 are a Kent BK4 and an AOS silvertip. The way the AOS is shaped and packed causes it to have more backbone and more of a scrubbing feeling on your face. The Kents have a lot of silvertip hairs and have a higher loft which I think is why they have a softer and more flowing feel to them - but not floppy!. The Kents have become my new favorites. They are wonderfully soft. I use a bowl to load warm shave cream onto the Kents and then face lather from there. I have no problem at all generating great lather with the Kents and though they don't have as much of a scrubbing feeling as the AOS, they feel great as you rub the lather onto your skin. And no they do NOT flop around as you use them.
Regarding hair shedding, I have not lost one hair yet and I have been using and rotating my use of the BLK8 and BK4 for over a month now. I do advise that before using one for the first time, use a comb to brush out loose unglued hairs - which there always initially are - and then give it a shampooing and use conditioner afterwards just to prep the brush for use.

Excellent Value & Feels Great on a Freshly Shaved Face
I've never used any sort of after-shave gel or balm before. I just started shaving with a DE safety razor and my skim felt like it needing a little something afterwards. I read other reviews and decided to give this a try. Awesome Product! It feels great on my skin after I shave and contributes to that soft feel you get from a very close shave. It isn't that large of a dispenser but you only need 2 pumps worth, which is a very small amount, and you have plenty to cover your shaved areas - so I do expect it to last a very reasonable number of uses. I liked it so much that I bought a second one.
