Clever, tough, and bright
2 of 2 found this helpful Nicely built, small, tough. Switch works in momentary mode for a quick look at something, or press further until the switch 'clicks' to keep the light on. Uses a single AAA cell. Unlike most flashlights, it comes on in 'low' mode first -- another click or momentary button press switches it to 'high.' That saves power, and doesn't blind you unless you ask for it.
Fixed beam pattern: an even hot spot that is 31" across at 8ft (96") away, surrounded by a larger, even, broad-beam halo. It's great for navigating in the dark (but not for spotting snipers :0).
Pulls about 0.5A in 'low' from a fresh alkaline cell and about 1.0A in 'high.' The 'low' and 'high' modes aren't terribly different in brightness, but battery life is considerably longer in 'low' mode.
