A bit tedious
I have watched half - a - dozen Hitchcock movies recently and have come to the conclusion that many of them are rather boring, including this one. I get a bit fed - up with the wealthy people, the fabulous houses, the elaborate coiffures and also the mono - directional story lines.

Worth it for the Dunhill
The Dunhill is very enjoyable, the D'Erlanger not so good -- he goes through all the motions but really has very little to say. Worth it for the Dunhill.

The best I've heard for the opus9 set
The Kodaly Quartet are excellent on this CD (and on its companion CD playing nos. 1,3 and 4 of opus 9).
Along with the Tatrai Quartet and The Lindsays, the Kodaly have produced the best recordings of most of Haydn's quartets: always reliable, sensitive to every nuance of the writing and with great ensemble playing. The recording quality is very satisfactory.
I bought these CDs to replace ones I had of opus 9 set played by The London Haydn Quartet playing on period instruments, which I really did not like.
