Samsung 870 QVO is a great alternative to a mechanical HDD
The Samsung 870 QVO is a great alternative to a mechanical hard drive. Although the SSD would be capable of been utilized as a boot drive I would recommend using this drive as a storage drive for media and games. The main reason for this is because the QVO utilizes QLC which doesn't wear and endure as well as SLC NAND technology. The read speeds are 554 MB/s, but the write speeds are the strength of the QVO, after benchmarking via the Samsung Magician software it recorded a write speed of 482 MB/s. This is almost 3 times the write speed of other SSD's I have owned.
