Good quality headphones
Tried the over ear things but nothing beats a proper pair of headphones + these are ideal: small, lightweight + quality. Of course with JVC I expected no less.

invaluable
As a cryptic crossword fan, I find this book invaluable: most words can be found with lists providing plenty of options, making cryptic crosswords fun rather than impossible. I had this book in the past + sent it to the charity shop thinking I could look up words on the laptop - big mistake! not nearly as helpful, so am thrilled to have a copy again. To my mind, the most useful crossword solver available.
