Oddly machine that does alright

This machine isn't super amazing. Build quality is alright, but the cabling inside is nothing to be impressed about. It certainly does the job though. Lenovo even stuck a speaker in the case for some reason.

Cool machine, frustrating build

Apple made a slick machine back in the day, but it needs some upgrades. Unfortunately upgrades means a big teardown process. Compared to other sub-compact notebooks (ibm/lenovo, fujitsu) this thing is a bit of a jigsaw to get apart. The alu build looks great but also wont hold up to scratches and bangs.

Cheap components but well designed and built compact stand

Design is simple and compact, but makes a stable easy to operate stand. The plastic components appear cheaply done. Not from very good molds or they completely skipped removing flashing (not that it matters much). Paint finish is quite good. Machined parts aren't pretty, but plenty functional. Clamps for legs and main pole hold well, but might wear out early if over-tightened and used often. Overall nothing to really complain about at this price point. This isn't gear that's going to survive being treated roughly, but for light duty use (and not abuse) it will probably last a long time.
