Not What I Would Expect from a Nikon
I guess I'm spoiled by the Kodak Easyshare point and shoot cameras that take fabulous pictures. I bought the Nikon Coolpix to replace a Kodak that I absolutely wore out. Out of the first 10 pictures I took, only one is even presentable. I went through the instruction manual (available online) and set every setting I could find to the specific environment I'd be in. Still, the pictures are grainy and overexposed. I would not recommend this camera to anyone.
