High Quality DMM retains value with age
Older DMM, but very high quality. RMS and wide AC Voltage response, to 100kHz with reduced accuracy. AC current to only 2kHz.
I checked Cal again my Fluke calibrator and it was very close.

Diffused Blue LED-good indicator light
A standard Blue LED needs about 2.8-3.2 Volts to operate and a way to limit the current to about 20 mA max for a T3 or T5 size LED to keep it from overheating. These LEDs incorporate a series resistor to limit the current and to operate at up to about 12 VDC.
They are actually bright enough to use at about 3.5V if used indoors. The plastic is a slightly cloudy Blue, which diffuses the light so its not like a flashlight beam shining in your eyes. This makes these LEDs great for on/off indicators or anywhere a small diffused blue light is needed.
The leads are insulated with shrink tubing with short lengths of Red and Black PVC insulated wires which will have to be soldered or screwed into a terminal block to use. Small wirenuts are a last resort.
The one negative is that unlike some others sold on eBay, they don't come with a mounting clip. However, just drill a slightly oversize hole and put a drop of superglue on the back lip and push it into place and it will work fine.
While these are no-name LEDs with no warranty for 50,000 hours that a Cree, Osram or Lumiled can offer, they should be fine for their intended applications.

Nice Solder Station-not too expensive
3 of 3 found this helpful A very nice package--holds a roll of solder, sponge and comes with a tip cleaner / rosin container.
Iron is permanently attached as is the AC cord, so they save a couple of bucks at the expense of easier repairs. The Temperature control is C or F via a switch. The iron tips are standard Chinese--pretty universal and cheap on eBay.
My main gripe is that the iron is a bit wimpy for larger jobs. It is about a 40W iron per my Wattmeter, so it's best used for finer work. The Blue LED display can be washed out by bright lights. The temperature and sleep controls work fine.
If the heater goes, it too looks like other eBay iron heaters. I didn't check how easy it would be to replace it.
