Leica Tri Elmar 16-18-21 on A7r performs well
1 of 1 found this helpful The Tri Elmar 16-18-21 performs very well on the Sony A7r with a variety of adapters, including a Tinray Helicoid. This lens is extremely sharp in good light and has a classic Leica feel in background. It has consistent sharpness across the frame in my first couple days of use. It is a pricy lens but is worthy of the Leica label. I shoot the Zeiss Distagon 15mm wide angle and the Leica, although different in feel, has equally pleasant results.

Sony A7r, premeire landscape camera
The A7r is a premiere Landscape camera. It also is a tremendous camera for anything with minimal movement. Photographers have also shown outstanding results with action photos in many conditions. Using the best optical lenses the A7r approaches Medium format level resolution. Weighing just over 14oz compared to 2 lbs, for the Nikon D810(it's only competitor.) It will adapt any lens type from Leica's to Canon FD's as well as an expanding lineup of FE lenses. Software interface has been redone, which stopped many from jumping to Sony before.
The A7r isn't built for everyone, it's unforgiving due to it's high megapixels and takes practice to attain good quality pictures. It has a slow FPS rate and the two other A7 cameras, the A7s and A7 are better suited for action and low light work.
AT $2,300 it's considerably cheaper than the Nikon D810 or other full frame Canon's. Having personal experience with the 5D mkIII & D800e, It out performs both for landscape work.
It's much easier to focus than the Nikon and has crisper photos than the Canon.
