Ideal Back-Up Camera
When I first received this kit I was a little worried because it does not use a standard video cable. If the one supplied was short I might be stuck. Well the cable was plenty long enough for a full size 4 door Hyundai XG. Not having the big yellow video plug also made it easier to run through small openings inside the vehicle.
There was no install instruction in the box but that really didn't matter. Installation was simple Just mount the camera and plug it into the cable. Plug the camera into the end with the red and black pig tails. Connect the pigtails to a back up light. The unit will instantly turn on when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. This is the way I connected mine.
You could reverse the cable and connect the monitor to the end with the pig tails then connect the red and black wires to ignition power. The camera would then be on whenever the vehicle is running. Which might be useful on vehicles with no other rear view mirror.
The picture is very clear. It functions well in low light. It is a very good value for the money. Most of all it works like it is supposed to.
