Strong performance from DDR3 era
The LGA1150 Xeons perform very well when compared to more modern Skylake and Kaby lake "non-K" i5s and i7s. They run extremely cool and are a great value alternative to any locked i7s from the DDR3 era. Note that they do not have integrated graphics on the CPU, so they will need an external GPU.
This Xeon is an example of the 4-core, 8-thread architecture found in the pre-Coffee Lake i7. As far as performance goes, it is nearly identical to the i7-4970. It works very well for gaming, light content creation, and engineering applications. Linux compatibility seems very solid with no issues when running Ubuntu 17.04.
The down side is no overclocking, so gaming performance is locked to the 3.9GHz Turbo for single core, and 3.7GHz for All-core turbo.

Evga gtx 1050ti
Impressive out of the gate. Can do some things better than my 960, as it has the 4gb ddr5. Small quiet and surprisingly powerful. A worthy follow up to the 750 ti at last.
