better than starting from scatch
The cab corners look good when you are holding them away from the truck, but when I put it up to the truck you can see the differences in the profiles. First the lower edge is just wrong I can't explain it, you have to see it. Second is the upper back area that is u shaped. The u shape should be have a nice radius profile for the recess. The patch panel has a sharp 45 degree profile. Welded together these two pieces will not look good. The good news most people can't see it with the bed on it. I only used the lower 5 inches of the patch panel so it wasn't a problem for me.
