Still the Most Versatile and Lightweight Bench Vise out there! Grab one!
B&D workmates have long been well-thought-out tools. So versatile.
This bench-top model is no exception. I wanted a good vise for my workbench. Something I could hold flat, tubular and non-parallel stock on, high enough off the bench to allow for cutting options, and quick to put-on and take-off. There's just nothing out there that fits this bill. And even with plastic parts, these things last. You really need to mistreat it to break anything.
For grins, look up the guy who invented the workmate and got rich in the process. Black & Decker recognized a winner and the Workmate has ruled home vicing for decades now. These little benchtop guys are great units. If you find one in good shape, grab it.

Glad to have my mic back.
Not an EV-branded product. Very good but not stellar quality. There was a little ridge of excess skin on the top edge of mine. Not noticeable, once installed. Tough to compare it to OEM, since EV screwed up by choosing a plastic that self-destructs way too soon. But when the mic was new, it seemed a bit more polished than with this after-market part. What counts, though, is the guts of the mic and I'm very happy to have it back in operation. So I recommend it. Agree with others that the fit is really tight. You'll need a few drops of water or spit to slide the sleeve all the way up the shaft. (Can I say that?) I wouldn't use silicone lubricant since you want it to stay put, once installed.
