Two thumbs good
I'm just a hobbyist. I just needed something to go 'beep' if I found a break in a simple circuit.
This does that very well. Very loud, very clear.
For £10 more, I could have got an uber flash circuit tester..but now I am so glad I didn't, because I know that I will have it for life. It's become so totally useful - I would have to replace it immediately if I ever lost it.
Out of the box, it has a very solid feel and look about it. It's not an airy light wafty product.
In fact, it would double quite well as a mugging deterrent.
But don't let that put you off..look around and you'll find all the decent multimeters are big and chunky too.
It comes with two pretty long, quality test leads with probes that haven't flattened or started to get chips in the chrome - actually a major consideration for me. The probes are able to pick up very small changes in resistance - so I can also check for bad connections as well as broken ones, which was a surprise for the price.
It also has a component tester - something I look forward to learning how to use. You can pay £20 for probes like these, alone.
Again, look around and you'll find I'm not BS-ing.
Being digital, it's packed with 'the usual' features - but the one that stands out for me is the automatic polarity detection. Handy for 12v circuits.
I bought this to do just one thing - but I am so impressed with the look and feel of the thing that it has become indispensable, and it feels like something that I will never have to replace.
Thanks, Seller - a big thumbs-up here.

All you need.
**UPDATE:
Couple of months now, and this thing is still going strong.**
It's got a thumb trigger with a nice push..and it's not too hard to hold down at most angles.
I've only had it for a day, but my immediate impressions are very good.
The lock works well, and there seems to be no overheating after 5 min of sustained use.
It fluctuates very little even if it's upside down..fluctuating only slightly, on normal use, when the flame's on full.
The range of the flame setting could be a bit wider for some uses, but for what I need it for, it's perfect.
In fact, this little dinky single-jet thing should suit most uses you'd want a flame gun for, but I wouldn't like to try and use it to braze lots of copper joints, etc.
The design encourages you to hold it away from your face when you light it. Believe it or not, that should be a big consideration. I already had someone try to light a cigarette with it.
It fits perfect in the hand, and feels well-made..even if it doesn't look like a ray-gun, like a lot of its more-expensive competitors. Mine has a brushed-steel body, with the black top, and it seems to have a huge capacity - probably the same as 4 or 5 normal lighters.
All in all, I like this product..you could pay a lot more and get a lot worse.
After searching through ebay and amazon for a decent product to use on heat-shrink tubing, I'm very happy that I settled on this one.
