Attractive design that requires a degree of vigilance.
Base plate is heavier and angle more upright, both improvements over the original iteration. A set screw allows the support bar behind the phone, its backrest, to adjust for the thickness of your case, also good. Three clips are provided to accommodate various cases along the bottom edge, where the lightning connector inserts, and these are the only plastic parts, rather flimsy. Once you determine which clip to use -- I made the wrong choice at first, easy to do -- the phone should sit squarely and securely on the stand, but you won't be completely happy and convinced by the result. Side to side stability is less than rock solid. If you bump the phone on either side, for example, it will torque the lightning connector, or worse, the phone will topple off the stand. Finally, removing the phone from the stand pulls the plastic clip out of the hollow support bar; the clip stays with the phone instead of staying put in the stand. Not good, and can only get worse after pushing your phone on and pulling it off hundreds of times. So the stand requires you to be quite careful and deliberate.
