out of the box... scarily inaccurate.

The first CVD lab grown diamond tested with this unit tested natural over and over again. I ended up buying the GIA iD100 at 10 times the price to make sure that we were covered. I'm glad I hadn't relied solely on the SmartPro for purchasing as it might have led to an expensive mistake. I am going to keep this unit and test it further to see if I can zero in on why it gives bad results. Maybe the CVD lab grown diamond was too big, or maybe it's less accurate on mounted diamonds, however I definitely will not be relying on it for day to day purchasing.
