review of the DZ43100 on my 04 silverado
I installed the DZ43100 on my 04 silverado, works good however, top stud is a bit too long and rubs the tailgate when closed.I had to file down the end just to make it clear the tailgate. I added pictures to show the clearance and the rubbing. Operation of the shock works like it should, I can open the tailgate and allow it to drop by itself, I just think that the company should redesign the kit to allow better clearance of the upper stud. I have an older Silverado so the rubbing of the paint isn't a huge deal but I shouldn't have to modify the kit just to make it work. pictures added.
