Care free exactly like legacy landline telephones. As reliable as your cable service.
Cisco Linksys RTP300-NA nomenclature indicates it is Not Assigned and can be used with any VOIP service provider. These are not factory rigged to only operate with one specific VOIP service provider , most commonly Vonage RTP300-VD.
Being a router it connects from your computer in between to your cable modem. The manual explains how to re-establish service with your ISP.
You need a digital phone to plug in. You then establish a user account ( internet connection to the VOIP service provider ) with an initial setup of the SIP ( Session Initiation Protocol )
First you register your device using your account details , login , password , and designate the server you talk through. In your browser you write the configuration data told to you by your VOIP service , yourself , into the RTP300-NA by accessing it's specific IP address appended /admin/voice/ , ' admin ' is a default password.
All following are entered without spaces , insert periods.
