Excellent device for people, who involved in several cycling sports
I am MTB and Road cyclist, weekend racer and one-day-tourist. Also I do running and skiing as training for bike races. I was always interested in improving my race results. In particular, I was looking for a small multi-purpose device that will help me to collect and analyze results of my training, will display this data during training, will help orienting in long one-day tour rides, will not use the battery of my cell-phone.
I was always liked Garmin products, so the choice was between Edge 500 and Forerunner 310XT. First was mostly bike-oriented device, second - more universal, but with lack of several features, like temperature sensor and barometric altimeter. I decided, that I will be interested not only in bike trainings, so, I bought 310.
My version was without any accessories, so, I borrow ANT stick from my friend and begin to use it with basic features.
Pros:
* Long operating time, you can do several trainings without recharging.
* Display can be used even in direct sunlight.
* Device can display and collect a lot of data, even without external sensors.
* Blazing fast data transfer to pc, you don't need any cables.
* Simple navigation options like following pre-loaded track and trackback
* User-friendly interface
Cons:
* Requires accessories to collect additional necessary data like cadence, power, and handlebar/stem mount for convenient data viewing during bike races.
* Lack of temperature sensor and barometric altimeter.
