Neglected Britcom Classic
Though it's a shame that more telecasts of this classic comedy series did not survive the BBC's shortsighted "wiping" policy, what remains of NOT IN FRONT OF THE CHILDREN is a delight. It's a family-oriented sitcom that is miles and away much more mature than anything on American TV at the time, and established actress Wendy Craig as the archetypal TV housewife...a role she would later continue on ...AND MOTHER MAKES THREE (and its follow-up, ...AND MOTHER MAKES FIVE) and the show that remains her finest hour on the small screen, BUTTERFLIES. Highly recommended.

Classic Britcom!
An excellent example of engaging character comedy -- it's no surprise that comedienne Victoria Wood was beloved by millions of British TV viewers during her many different boob tube incarnations. DINNERLADIES is the best of them all.
