3m Stagg 6.3mm Stereo Jack (M) to 6.3mm Stereo Jack (F) Extension Cable

Very poor soldering at socket end
I bought this extension cable to use with my electronic drum kit as my headphone cable kept getting in the way. with this I can have the cable going down my back and around the outside of the drum kit. At first it was great but after about 15 minutes of use, the sound quality started dropping off and then it cut out on the left side. I found the soldering on the socket end of the extension cable to be very poor quality and one of the wires had come off. I checked the plug end and found that to be a different case altogether, much better, professional quality soldering, which makes me think that this was originally a much longer lead that has been shortened and had a new socket fitted but not by the original manufacturer. I may be wrong, they may have had a work experience kid in that day putting the sockets on, but I doubt it. Anyway, I re-soldered the socket myself and now it's all good but I shouldn't have to do that. I could have just bought the individual bits and made it myself. If I wasn't competent enough to do that, I would have had to go through all the hassle of returning it etc. It may have just been my bad luck to get a duff one but very odd to get a cable with one good end and one end that's utter rubbish.
