Poor quality control can cause motors to have issues, but can be corrected.
I bought 6 of these motors and 1 of the 6 ran well, the others had almost 1/8" end play and were weak and noisy.
After taking the motors apart I found the cause of the poor running. It was due to the commutator assembly not being fixed in place and was allowed to rotate and slide back and forth on the shaft. This caused the the excessive end play and weakness due to the motor timing be off.
I was lucky I had one the ran well and used it as a guide to set the timing for the others. After setting the timing and super-gluing the commutator assembly in place and shimming any end play the motors ran well.
So if you want to go to the trouble of "fixing" the motors they can be made to run well and will be a good value.

Excellent lightweight stand
The stand is great and fits all my guitar shapes easily. The only thing I wish was different is that there be more weight in the base. It’s easy to knock over when picking up the guitar. I added some lead shot in the tubes and now it’s perfect.
