    SHARS PRECISION STEEL HARDENED 4,6,9,12" MACHINISTS WORK SHOP SQUARES SETS R}
    Mar 08, 2021
    Good bang for the buck with one notable issue.
    Missing a key feature, but for the price, they're great. I needed a larger square for quick tramming on my mill. For the price of a single square, this entire set also included another size above what I was looking for. Because I'm using them in a messy environment, I didn't want to abuse a precision Starrett, costing 10 times as much, so I bought these. They are precise enough for what I need and I don't have to worry about destroying a high precision tool. They are missing one feature that you should be aware of. Where the blade meets the shoulder, the shoulder is relieved and below the machined surface of the parallel. This means that it will not be able to rest on narrow surfaces, like more expensive parallels can. I am not worried as I have other tools for using in those circumstances. If I run into a situation where this causes a problem, it will be a disappointment, but I can't think of what that might be.

    Digital Electronic/Code Keyless Keypad Security Entry Door Lock Left Handle New
    Dec 21, 2017
    High quality but highly complicated to install
    This is a beautiful & well-built digital door lockset. When it's properly installed, it feel like a bank vault & operates really well. The problem is the installation process. I needed to replace a standard style lockset with this, mortise style set. I am a woodworker and knew that this was part of the work. That part wasn't too difficult and I managed to successfully modify the door for the new lockset. This lockset comes with absolutely no diagrams, templates or dimensions of any kind that cover the sizes & types of holes that the door needs to have. There is only a drawing showing the openings, but there are no dimensions. Anywhere. It is up to the installer to attempt to obtain these measurements by partially assembling the lockset and using calipers & other measuring equipment to obtain them. I probably have an above average set of measurement tools that I doubt everyone would have and it was still quite tricky for me. I finally did manage to get a set of correctly sized openings after about 2 hours of test fitting and tweaking with mortise chisels, drills and files. Not for the faint of heart. Next comes assembly of the lockset itself. First, the 2 halve have an interconnecting set of wires including 2 large plugs which must be both able to pass through the uppermost hole, while also remaining tucked into slots in the back of both lockset halves. They cannot interfere with a bolt that interconnects the halves and they cannot get trapped behind either half. While you're trying to work that out, you need to remember the spring-loaded, square drive shaft that needs to be inserted between the halves and through the center, mortise fitting. Oh, and don't forget that while you holding those 2 piles of shifting parts, you still need to insert the deadbolt through one half of the lockset and then through the center mortise piece, finally trapping it in the correct position with another screw that drops through the center mortise fittings. 7 hands to hold all of this stuff at the same time. The only remaining problem is that you don't have enough hands left for the 8th piece - the bolt that holds the bottom of the 2 lockset halves together. I'm not kidding. This was well built, but it was designed without any forethought of the assembly and installation process. If you are within the, I would guess less than 5% of people who are actually able to assemble this thing, you will be delighted, first with your technical prowess, but also with the quality of the working lockset. You could handle the control panel on the Sputnik. If, however, you are normal and haven't amassed a machine shop's worth of specialty tools and measurement equipment, you might want to talk to someone at Home Depot or Lowes to get some suggestions about good lock sets that might be easier to put in your door. I highly recommend this product to anyone with the bitter determination to put up with the installation process.
