Proxxon 28512 12-Volt Micromot 50 EF Rotary Tool with Quick-Action Chuck
Dec 20, 2016
Made in Luxemburg!
Having been exposed to the exactness of a machine shop that holds right tolerances,I was hoping that this device ran as concentric as the 120v version that claims within .001". Sadly didn't really come that close.when a tool is spinning with a wobble, the while thing is not working, which means part of it wears out really fast while some of it doesn't cut at all. Makes it harder to do exact work... It does however beat many other Rotary tools I have tried. I bought without a power supply, as it seemed over priced, and I figured I had some old 12v wall wort hanging around.turns out all i had was an automotive battery charger, with a 2,10 and 50 amp charge/start. I found it worked better on the 10 amp setting. Sure I had a couple switching power supplies, but no speed control and it really does work better on an unregulated power supply.basically just a heavy transformer with a rectifier. It's comfortable to hold but the turn lock button is slightly awkward in relation to how the cord hangs off.that's OK.It's built better than the pictures do justice,I don't know why but the pictures make it look kinda cheaply made.I looked all around on the net for conclusive evidence of where it was made, found little. The package had a sticker that said Made in Luxemburg. The device itself said Made in EU. Hope that helps somebody.I would suggest getting the collets unless you plan on only using it for various micro drill bits. They spin more true than the keyless Chuck.(By the way, you don't need a key for the collets, you might need a wrench, but only if you get it too tight, which will only wear it out faster.really you should never need a wrench with either.) I'd you don't use their power supply, you will have to get creative with the plug.I cut a Molex male connector and shoved the pins from the tool into the Molex and left it with the red+ and black- wires about four inches to connect to whatever power supply I had.I didn't want to cut the proxxon connector off. Overall pretty decent, better than dremmel by far. One could get creative and connect it to a battery pack too, for a semi cordless experience,12-18v, as it is rated.I may try the 120v version in the future.or I might try the tool from micro mark dot com, made in Japan.

Pretty easy install. 1000 times better than the cable steering that was on the boat. Could have been more info on the install, though. Malnly about wmhere the cable sheath anchors to the boat prior to the motor. I made my own mount but I think that but is the same as 1/2 pipe thread but strait, not tapered.
