GLARE Fountain Pen Bottled Ink Olive Brown -1x60ml
    Jul 17, 2018
    Great ink, decent bottle.
This is just rebottled ink from another brand and sold at a markup, but the price is perfectly in line with everything else I buy, and the ink itself still feels like an absolute steal. Olive brown is a great ink. It goes down darker and dries fairly pale, with a little bit of shading, it's still quite legible. But this stuff is WATERPROOF. it just laughs at water. It's also smooth and medium-wet flowing and very well behaved, even on awful paper. It's a very unique ink, too. I don't know of another color from any brand out there that matches this even a little. The bottle is plastic and unremarkable, I like the cap, it's very secure and doesn't leak, but the plastic bottle itself is kind of a let down. Still, not enough to knock off a star. It just makes me want to spend the extra money for the 100mL apothecary bottle filled with this ink.
Montblanc 146/149,Pelikan M800 fountain pen piston wrench/disassemble tool
    Jul 17, 2018
Awesome value for a required maintenance tool
Awesome tool for disassembling a mont blanc 149. Works like a charm on my late 80's/early 90's 149, lets me grease the piston with ease. Fitment is perfect.
2017 Model Wing Sung 698 Transparent Piston Fountain Pen Extra Fine 0.38mm Nib
    Aug 23, 2017
Possibly the best new deal in fountain pens
The 698 is the pen that pilot should be making and selling at $25-30. It's an impressively well made little pen, with great fit and finish, the EF nib rivals pilot's. The blind cap is well made (it does wobble a TINY bit when you deliberately wiggle it, but it's not really loose, just feels like it was deliberately made that way) and is one of the three iny things I'd change about this pen, the other being the clip is just too tight and that I wish they'd revise the design slightly to accommodate the cap posting on the body. Even unposted, the pen fits the hand very nicely. The grip section is a nice shape and is comfortable to hold. The piston holds a lot of ink and the demonstrator is awesome looking. I was unsure about the white/clear, but it actually shows off colors really well because of the white/ink contrast. The biggest party piece is that this is 100% perfectly interchangeable with pilot nibs. Pick up a plumix stub and you now have a 698 stub. Pick up a metro or kakuno or 78g or prera with an F or M nib, and you have one of those. The EF is nice and medium-flowing, great for everyday use where you need ink to dry quickly and not bleed/feather. Smooth and not scratchy at all. Quality of the plastic is excellent and the pen has no drying out issues whatsoever. Some may say this pen is a "ripoff" of the TWSBI eco, I strongly disagree. This is much better than the TWSBI, both in style and substance. This pen needs a few tiny tweaks to be literally perfect, but it's easily one of the most fantastic deals out there, and this is the very first chinese made fountain pen that I would 100% recommend to someone as a first fountain pen. Well done Wing Sung. Chinese pens got astoundingly better when they started using old pilot tooling to stamp out pilot's legendary steel nibs, and they're doing pilot steel nibs real justice.
