Delightful movie with English & Spanish subtitles emphasizing Celtic music
This is a delightful movie emphasizing Celtic music. However, my main interest is that the DVD has both English and Spanish subtitles. I lead a Spanish instruction group where I first play a scene selection using the English subtitles and normal sound. I then go back over the selection using the Spanish subtitles (with the normal sound turned off) and pause the individual scenes so that members of the group can work on the Spanish translation. This makes for an enjoyable learning experience.

MC Beaton's MacBeth is an excellent series
I have read all of the MacBeth series (except the last, Green-Eyed Monster) once and -- an advantage of getting elderly and forgetting much -- I'm half-way through the series a second time. It will help to read this series according to publication dates, since events and characters tend to carry on chronologically. This series is my favorite "fun read". The enduring characters (e.g., MacBeth, Priscilla, Lochdugh long-time residents) are endearing -- and the murder victims are generally unsympathetic. The characterization of far northeast Scotland is excellent - including the dark, cold winters. Especially noteworthy is the cultural friction between highland Scots and lowland Scots.
