Good value outdoor speakers
13 of 13 found this helpful Good value for low cost outdoor speakers. Sound good. Attractive finish. Easy to mount. Mfg. literature that comes in the box says they must be mounted in a sheltered location. Only real flaw is that the connectors are very small and close together. I used 16 gauge wire and had a lot of difficulty getting the wire to work without shorting out. Speakers are fairly loud up close. Was not able to max them out as I bought the Bluetooth amplifier that was recommended by the mfg. and it does not have the necessary power to drive them. These are 4 star speakers. Would have given them a 5 star if not for the weak connectors.

Limited capability player - as delivered.
4 of 4 found this helpful I bought this music player to use as a digital jukebox. I have a large music collection and primarily listen to playlists. My first attempt to use the player was to load a 1300 song M3U playlist from Musicmatch Jukebox. This was very frustrating because you are limited to Usb 1.0 speed (very slow) if you use any method other than the Gigabeat Room software to load the player. It also would error out and quit for any number of reasons during download and never tell you why. After a week of this, I loaded the Gigabeat Room software and found that it did not recognize standard M3U playlists. Now I have to rekey all my playlists in Gigabeat room manually. I did go to the trouble of rekeying one playlist to try. It also errored out but at least Gigabeat Room would tell you why. As it turns out, this player rejects any copyrighted material when it goes through the encryption process. Yes, it encrypts your music as it loads it onto the player. Copyrighted music may be as much as half ( or more ) of your collection. Windows does not recognize the device as a disk drive so you cannot copy files directly to it. This player is more about roadblocks than it is about playing music. I was about to resell the player and buy a Zen Touch when I discovered Rockbox on the internet. Rockbox is an open source operating system that you can download and install on the Toshiba F40 and many other players. With the Rockbox operating system the F40 now appears as a drive to your PC. Download errors are gone. High speed Usb 2.0 downloads. Excellent playlisting capabilities with your existing M3U playlists. I'm rating the Toshiba F40 as below average with the factory firmware/operating system. If you are computer proficient and willing to replace the Toshiba operating system with the Rockbox operating system then you will have a good solid player with a good to excellent rating.
