William S. Rice's California Woodblock Color Prints
Anyone interested in color woodblock prints certainly knows the name William S. Rice. His prints seldom come up for sale so they apparently remain in the hands of lucky collectors already. The few that do make it to market are fairly costly, so even if of interest, they may be unaffordable. At last a book of a collection of his many California prints has become available. Most of these I have never seen, so it is a delight to slowly turn each page to savor the beauty of his creations. You will not be disappointed.

Les Miserables - A Stage Musical DVD Must
I always watched it when on a PBS station, so decided to buy it for my own collection. The cast is in front of the orchestra in full costume, some action scenes from actual live performances are projected on a screen behind the orchestra. The actors/singers are from various productions of the show, all the best of the best it seems. At the end 17 performers playing Jean Valjean from foreign countries join in for the rousing finale. Anyone loving the musical theatre has to have this dvd in their collection.
