Patience is rewarded!
The surrounds were very easy to install, they work great, and should last considerably longer than the originals - given the materials used. Just know that it's important not to force anything & to be patient with each step of the process! Though I did these 2 for a friend, I re-foamed all four of my stacked Advents several years ago and have enjoyed every room shaking minute of music since...and they're all still going strong(perhaps I'll post a longevity update in the year 2030!). BTW: when listening to them, there seems to be a psychological gain from knowing I had a small part in the music's delivery chain. Go figure!!!

Very Disappointed
Last August(2019), I bought a couple reconditioned rims from wheels-america...from THIS page...to replace two that were vandalized. For various reasons, I didn't get them put on until mid-Oct. Now, mid-Dec., one of the rims looks like it had 'sparkle' thrown at it and, although it's completely smooth, it won't come clean. BTW: my two remaining original rims are 25 years old and still look practically showroom fresh. As I don't clean rims with anything more than either soap & water or windex, and since I can't afford to throw money where I don't have any true recourse, I'm at a loss concerning what to do with what went wrong. The only two possibilities I see are that something from the road splashed up on the rim while completely missing the tire, or something was defective on the face of the rim. And sanding down & clear coating them myself really isn't an option for me.
I gave two stars instead of one because structurally they seem to be very sound...no instability at speed. And it's times like this that I kinda wish I had a camera.
