A very detailed model of a very famous ship!!!!
This is a model of the Mayflower 2 that England sent to the US in the early 50's. It is a very detailed model of the ship, as most Revell sailing ship models are. It has an almost complete rigging instructions and the parts colors are by each piece on the instructions. It needs a little clean up from molding flash, but it is very manageable. It isn't for the first time builder, but if you take it step by step you will enjoy the time you will have in it and the very nice results of a great looking model!!!!

Great old models of great old history making ships!!!!!!!
Even though it is a kit that has been around for quite some time, the model is very well done and has quite a great deal of detail to the kit!! Revell has always had great detail to their older sailing ship models and they are very closely scaled to drawings or measurements that were available!! When compared with wood ship models they look very good indeed!! There is flash and small parts and details that you have to be careful with but if you use sharp sprue nippers you will be fine. Even the rigging instructions are good!! The molded ratlines and shrouds aren't that good but if you get a couple of good used ship model books, they can make a great difference in the final model. They are a joy to build, relaxing, and will increase your craftsmanship abilities!! A great step in a great hobby!!
